Protect your heart by choosing healthy fats, fiber, and vitamin-rich foods-

Oatmeal and Strawberries: This is an excellent source of dietary fiber
How much: 25 to 30 grams of fiber daily

Salmon: This is one of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids
How much: Eat fatty fish (like salmon or tuna) at least twice a week

Avocados, Olive Oil, and Almonds: Replace saturated fats and trans fats and start to include poly and monounsaturated fats
How much: A typical diet should be no more than 30% fat

Red Wine: The color comes from grape skins, which include resveratrol, which appears to stop the arteries from getting blocked by fatty deposits
